Aragón Digital (November 13, 2018): The USJ leads two European research projects that manage more than one million euros

San Jorge University has started the meetings of two European research projects that, in total, manage more than 1 million euros. One of the projects aims to prevent musculoskeletal disorders and the other aims to combat discrimination, racism, intimidation and violence in healthcare system.

Zaragoza.- San Jorge University has held in recent days the initial meetings of two European research projects led by the center, which in total manage more than 1 million euros. One of the projects is Prevent4Work, Knowledge Alliance for innovative measures in the prevention of work-related musculoskeletal disorders that is funded by the European Erasmus + program and has a budget of 894,876 euros for the next three years.

Prevent4Work aims to prevent musculoskeletal disorders through a network that will develop innovative educational programs, adaptive mobile applications for each user, high quality material based on the latest available scientific evidence and other actions that can be implemented in the European Union.

The consortium is made up of seven entities from Spain, Italy and Denmark. Three of them are universities (the USJ, Aalborg University and University College of Northern Denmark), three are small and medium enterprises (Viteco, Inagropec and Geospatiumlab) and another is a hospital (Galeazzi Orthopedic Institute). The consortium is led by San Jorge University through the iPhysio Research Group.

On the other hand, the first meeting of the European project TC-Nurse, Transcultural Nursing: A European Priority, a Professional Responsibility, which is also funded by the European Erasmus + program (Strategic Partnership) was also held and has a budget of 302.052 euros for the next three years.

TC-Nurse wants to promote the development of social, civic and cross-cultural skills, and critical thinking among nursing students and teaching and professional staff, also involving the main stakeholders and responsible in all participating countries. This project aims to combat discrimination, segregation, racism, intimidation and violence in health through the creation of a multinational module of mixed learning in cross-cultural nursing.

The consortium is made up of entities from four different countries, the Portalegre Polytechnic Institute of Portugal, Artesis Plantijn Hogeschool Antwerpen of Belgium, Istanbul Aydin University of Turkey and the San Jorge University, which leads the consortium. News in PDF: Click Here

The USJ has held the initial meetings of two European research projects of which it is a leader and which manages more than one million euros. Both are funded by the European Erasmus + program and have a budget for the next three years.

The researchers of the San Jorge University are part of six European, five national and nine regional projects and have obtained more than 130,000 euros in research contracts

So far, during the 2018-2019 academic year, the researchers of the San Jorge University have achieved agreements, projects and contracts that add funding of more than 640,000 euros, with 70% of regional, national and European competitive public calls. They have worked on the development of six European, five national and nine regional projects, and have also signed 19 research contracts, obtaining more than 130,000 euros for their execution.

Of the six European projects, three are coordinated by the Universidad San Jorge. * Prevent4Work, Knowledge Alliance for Innovative Measures in Prevention of Work — Related Musculoskeletal Disorders and “TC-Nurse, Transcultural Nursing: A European Priority, a Professional Responsibility, both funded by the Erasmus + program, have started this course. The first one aims to establish a network to implement programs and actions that result from musculoskeletal disorders related to the workplace. The second aims to promote the development of social, civic and cross-cultural competencies among students and nurses to combat discrimination, segregation, racism, intimidation and violence in health through the creation of a multinational module of mixed learning in transcultural nursing.

For its part, the project “FAN — OUT: Outdoor sports as a universal language for learning ‘, which began last year and whose objective is learning in sport and through it, has allowed more than 60 Maltese and Spanish students make stays in other countries exchanging experiences. In addition, four students have carried out training and intercultural activities in France and Brussels with students from these countries and from the University of Beijing thanks to the project “SEIC: Sino – European interculturality, valorizing and professionalizing knowledge in institutional and marketing conununication” on interculturality. Within the framework of the European Smart Finance project, the first International Smart Finance Contest was organized, aimed at offering companies and entrepreneurs in Southwestern Europe alternative financing and personalized advice, and through the R&D partnership with Novaltia, Inycom, Hierros Alfonso, Brial, BSH , MAZ, Fundación Ibercaja and Pranarom has strengthened the relationship Company University and training and research activities have been carried out in different areas.
